Jardin Majorelle |
A haven of French art, architecture, and fashion, the Majorelle Garden in Marrakesh, Morocco, was created by Jacques Majorelle, an Orientalist French artist. Amongst its various attractions is an exquisitely designed garden spread over 2.5 acres, prominently featuring various species of cacti. Nestled amidst this greenery is a cobalt blue Cubist Villa designed by French architect Paul Sinoir. The Musee Yves Saint Laurent and the Berber Museum are also housed in the garden complex. The former showcases iconic works by the late French fashion maestro, while the latter is dedicated to the Amazigh(Berber) culture. The garden is also home to 15 species of birds native to North Africa.
